Google is celebrating the 94th birth anniversary of Verghese Kurien with its doodle on its India home page. The doodle shows the 'milkman of India' with a can in his hand as a buffalo looks on. Kurien's revolutionary ideas lead to a self-sustaining dairy industry in India and his ‘While Revolution’ turned India into the largest producer of milk in the world. Kurien went on to lead the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd and created Amul brand of dairy products, one of India's iconic brands. Born on November 26 1921 at Calicut, Kerala, Verghese Kurien graduated in Physics from Loyola College, Madras in 1940 and then went on to College of Engineering, Guindy and obtained his Bachelors in Mechanical engineering.
