The inaugural edition of the Kerala Literature Festival, modeled on well-known international literature festivals, will begin today at Kozhikode beach. About 150 leading writers from across the country and leading writers from the state will take part in the four-day festival that concludes on February 7. The inaugural function will be followed by a discussion on ‘Literature in the bad times’ in which Githa Hariharan, M T Vasudevan Nair, Prathibha Rai and festival director K Sachidanandan will take part. Challenges to the freedom of artists and writers is one of the themes on focus at the maiden KLF 2016.
