The ‘indefinite strike’ by Uber and Ola cabbies in Kerala demanding revision of wages and employment guarantee has been called off. This was following a promise given by the online taxi service managements to favourably consider their demands, which include a review of cutback on weekly wages. The drivers affiliated to the All Kerala Online Taxi Drivers Union had been on strike since December 29. Adv. T R S Kumar, president of the union, had, on December 28, told the media that Ola and Uber had gradually withdrawn all the attractive packages that they had initially offered to the drivers, leaving them in dire straits.
