PG Diploma in Forensic Anthropology
The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore has invited applications for admission to its Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Anthropology (PGDFA). According to the college, the one year hybrid course, designed especially for the practicing forensic expert, aims to fill the gap in the armamentarium of the forensic specialist.
Forensic anthropology is the examination of human skeletal remains to determine the identity of unidentified bones. Using human bone, a forensic anthropologist determines the age, the height, the sex, the type of occupation and overall health status at the time of death.
A forensic anthropologist can work in academic and applied field. Those employed in academic field can work in colleges, universities and can also perform individual research projects. Those who work in applied field may work with a law enforcement agency, a coroner’s office or with a medical examiner.
MBBS or BDS graduates; postgraduate students of MD or MDS; BSc or MSc Criminology; MSc Forensic Sciences; BSc/MSc Nursing; MSc Anatomy; LLB or LLM
