Nilam – A short Film Starring Sajitha Madathil

Nilam, a short film starring Sajitha Madathil draws attention to a very relevant issue – need for more public toilets for women.

The four-minute film written and directed by Vineeth Chakyar has already garnered a lot of positive response from viewers and on social media for the simple but effective manner in which it highlights the issue which affects working women and girl students the most.

Sajitha Madathil, acclaimed theatre personality and actress noted for her roles in Shutter, Adimadhyantham, Njan, and Nadan, plays the role of a working woman in the film. The film was screened at Nottam Festival.

“Nilam is a low-budget film that has been made for a competition organised by the Kerala government, but it should reach more people…We heard the experiences of so many female friends, and still we are getting a lot of comments,” the director said on his Facebook page.

Sreeraj Raveendran has handled the cinematography while editing, sound design and original score is by Sruthi Lakshmi.
