Nawazuddin Siddiqui to Share Screen with Bachchan in ‘Kerala’
Critically acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been roped in for Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming project said to be titled Kerala. The Manjhi actor will be seen sharing screen space with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. The film is said to be a thriller set in the south Indian state.
It is the first time that the talented actors are teaming up and there are reports that it is Big B himself who requested Sujoy Ghosh to cast him with Nawazuddin. Ghosh, who also scripts the film, has come up with a tale in which both Bachchan and Nawazuddin have interesting roles.
Confirming the news, Nawazuddin said he had never ever dreamt that he would get a chance to work with megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Without disclosing any further details about the film, he said “I am very much fortunate to work with Mr. Bachchan. I have never even thought in my dream that he would wish to work with me. It’s a good luck that I am getting to work with such a big actor in my next film”.
It’s not the first time that Kerala has been theme and location for major Bollywood flicks, but this time around the state is itself the title for a movie made by the Kahani director.
Sujoy Ghosh, best known for his directorial ventures Kahani and Ahalya, is expecting a good response from his fans down south. No doubt Malayali audiences too would be looking forward to the release of the flick set in their state.
Amitabh’s recent release Piku has been a major hit in Kerala, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ghosh’s Kahani had turned out to be a rage when the film was shown in theatres in the state.
This year, Nawazuddin was seen in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manjhi – The Mountain Man and garnered praise for both. He will be seen playing the role of a cop in his next, ‘Raees’, in which he will be starring alongside Shahrukh Khan.
Bachchan- Nawaz starring Kerala is expected to hit the theatres in 2016.
