Kamal Haasan’s next film a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual
Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan will team up with national award winning Malayalam director T K Rajeev Kumar for his next film, a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual. The last time the duo had worked together was in 1989 for Rajeev’s directorial debut ‘Chanakyan’ which was a big hit.
“Discussions have been going on for a while and a script will be locked soon,” revealed a source close to the actor.
It will be interesting to see if they can recreate the magic after 26 years. In 2010, the director had expressed a desire to work with Kamal again but that didn’t materialize.
The ace filmmaker said that the movie will be shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil. The film is set to go on floors soon.
Rajeev Kumar, however, refrained from giving further information about the storyline, cast and crew. He said that more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Kamal Haasan is, meanwhile, gearing up for the release of his neo-noir crime thriller ‘Thoongavanam’ which is expected to hit the screens during deepavali. The Tamil-Telugu movie is a remake of French film “Sleepless Night”.
