Good news! Now you can get your passport in just 7 days. The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that one can have his or her passport issued within a week by submitting copies of Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, PAN card and an affidavit of ‘no criminal case’ that includes family details and citizenship. The police verification required for the passport (it used to take a month) will take place once the travel document is issued, said the government in a press release.
